Tubbs is a 9 month old cat owned by one of our auxiliary nurses, Lilly.
A bouquet of flowers were brought into their house and before the owners could dispose of them Tubbs managed to get to the flowers and rubbed against the pollen.

The entire Lilly plant is toxic to cats, even the water in the vase. Just a small amount of pollen licked from the fur can cause fatal kidney failure and the effects can be quite rapid.
It was unknown whether Tubbs had definitely ingested any or not but the decision was made to treat her as a precautionary measure due to the potential risk.

Tubbs was admitted to the hospital for blood tests in order to monitor her kidney values and intravenous fluid therapy for 48 hours in order to support her kidneys.

Tubbs remained bright throughout her hospital stay with us and we are pleased to report that after 48hours her kidney values had remained normal, she was discharged home with no further complications.

I would be here all day of i told you the stories of my dogs 😂 I cannot fault any of your team from the receptionists to Head Vet. Lola had a traumatic time ending with TECA in both ears 5 years ago. Martin was ‘amazing’ and the love he showed us all was humbling. Teddy has had the usual ailments (now the ripe old age of 13), his latest being gastroenteritis last year which he fully recovered from. And poor old Milo has IMHA, diagnosed last November and recently off all medication 🎉, if it wasn’t for Bruce’s prompt action the outcome would be very different. Milo was critical for days and had to have a blood transfusion, the compassion shown by Rachel and all the nursing staff was amazing, allowing us to visit when ever we wanted. It’s been a long road and Milo now has this auto immune disease for life but has done amazing. And Bruce has ensured we have been seen as often as needed. Bruce and I have spent so much time together I’m sure people are talking 😂 And the fact I walk in and I’m checked in without saying a word says it all 🤣 So a huge thank you to the whole team from the Tibbs Family xx 🐶🐶🐶

Happy Veterinary day 😃 You looked after Queenie when she was extremely poorly 😔 she stayed with you for about 5 nights. You nursed her back to health & she is now a more respectable weight too, 5.4kg 😍 she was a frail kg lighter before ☹️ I can’t thank you all enough, especially Bruce 😊xx

Luca attacking a vet and a nurse about 6 years ago he was a monster sized kitten, he had notorious on his file, he was ordered to see head vet, he was as good as gold with Penny and was the vets poster boy for a while during lock down, he's such a good boy really❤️

Happy Veterinary Day to all the amazing Vets and staff x

been with the meopham vets for many years and found them great with our Harry just wish they had told me they do not give very one dog or cats paw prints after they are put to sleep as i would have done it myself not to worry 😔but it is a good vets and if i get a other dog i might take him/her there

Happy world veterinary day Lauryn Michelle Fasakin 🐶 🐱 🐴

🐾 Pip is a 3 year old Jack Russell cross that visited our Swanscombe branch in March for her booster.
🐾 Patients receive a full clinical examination at the time of vaccination and within this it was noted that Pip would benefit from a dental scale and polish as she had heavy tartar build up.

🦷Oral health is as important in pets as it is in humans.
🦷Dental disease can be a systemic problem as bacteria within the oral cavity can enter the blood stream.
🦷Dental disease is very painful but many animals will continue to eat even when they have severe dental disease.
🦷Preventative oral health is very important and so by performing a dental scale and polish we are able to prolong the life of Pip’s teeth and hopefully prevent the need for future extractions.

🐾As you can see from the before and after images, Pip’s teeth looked lovely afterwards.
🐾As she is a member of our Pet Health Club her owners received a discount on the dental procedure 🙌🏻

I would like to thank the vet Bruce McLeary, and all the nurses at Meopham vets for all their quick and caring response, to my bitch Misty who had an emergency caesarian today and looked after my bitch and her pups fantastically thank you to you all

Ms Sankey

To all pet owners looking for the very best in vet advice and care then book your pet in here, we have used The Swanscombe & Meopham Surgeries since 2006 after re-homing our Sophie from Cats Protection & the rest of her life was never free from health problems. When Sophie had to stay in at the vets I visited her daily & the cages were spotless, clean blankets & nurses on continual attendance. We can't say enough about all the staff, they treated her like a part of their family.

Maureen & Tom Partridge

Thank you to all at Meopham Veterinary Hospital for looking after Ted & Hector as well as if they were your own puppies. I always know that they will get the best care, and am sure Ted would not be here at all if it weren't for you guys. Ted & Hector are the light of our lives, so your exemplary care of them is, to us, priceless. Thank you.

The Robinson family

Great skills, great care, great service and understanding.

Rachel Clark

I have been a client, with my various dogs, since 1999 and can honestly say that I have been totally satisfied with Meopham Vets throughout this time. The care and consideration shown to our dogs has been amazing. I usually try to see Martin as I have known him so long, but I have no objection to seeing any of the vets as they all have the same qualities, especially Bruce. The nurses are all wonderful and over the years I have become close to some of them and have watched as they have developed their careers under the guidance of Martin. The reception / office staff are brilliant too and I have never had a problem getting appointments. The out of hours service is second to none. My dogs throughout their lives have been looked after and loved by all the staff and when it has come to the final goodbyes they and I have been treated with amazing sensitivity and kindness. In a nutshell, I could not recommend this practice highly enough.

Mrs Bateman

A big thank you for looking after our pets over the years, all 22 of them! We think you can all perform miracles. In sad times the impossible cannot always we done but you have all given us the strength and helped us to cope once again. Thank you all.

Mrs Kinch

Service is always the best. Everyone cares for your pet as if it's their own.

Mrs Parker

Absolutely first class care, always.

Mrs Hocking

Freddie has completed 10 hydrotherapy sessions following TPLO surgery to repair his ruptured cruciate ligament. Freddie is now back to his normal self and has regained his strength which exceeded all our expectations. He has suffered with bad skin for years and we were worried that the sessions would have a detrimental effect however his skin has never been better! He now enjoys coming into the vets and he adores hydrotherapist Amy! We are thrilled with his progress and would thoroughly recommend hydrotherapy to others.

Mrs Cooper

Thank you all on behalf of ESSW for the wonderful care and superb treatment that Eesha has received over the last weeks. She is such a lovely girl and truly deserved every bit of it!
