Teddi is 9 months old and was brought into us as he was vomiting and very quiet at home.  Blood tests confirmed that Teddi had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).  This is a serious, and sometimes life threatening condition.  He was admitted to our Hospital for fluid therapy, pain relief and intensive nursing.  After 1 week Teddi was still extremely painful and nauseous, despite multiple combinations of drugs.  He was also reluctant to eat and he was struggling to walk through weakness.  Everyone was genuinely concerned for Teddi’s future.

At this stage Teddi was anaesthetised and a feeding tube was placed.  This way our nurses could administer a food replacement via the tube and ensure Teddi received the nutrients he required to help him start to improve and become stronger.  After a few days Teddi appeared to be a little brighter and after 2 weeks in the Hospital he finally licked a little food on his own!!

Teddi steadily continued to improve & after a 4week stay with us he finally went back home to his dedicated owner.  Teddi really was such a special patient & everyone involved in his care was so happy for this outcome.
